The Grand County High School boys tennis team went 2-3 in Region 15 matches over the final week of the regular season. The Grand County High School (GCHS) Red Devils swept San Juan 5-0 in Blanding on Tuesday, April 23, to begin the week, then returned home where they lost 4-1 to Richfield and won 3-2 over South Sevier on Thursday, April 25, then lost 3-2 to North Sanpete and 4-1 to Manti on Friday, April 26. Over the course of the week, Kai Wainer went 3-2 in No. 1 singles; Soren Indergard went 1-4 in No. 2 singles; Cody Johnston went 3-2 in No. 3 singles; Braxten Pierce and Kasey Kemp went 4-1 in No. 1 doubles, scoring GCHS’s lone point versus both Richfield and Manti; and Hayden Lance and Jamey Mascaro went 1-4 in No. 2 doubles. The GCHS Red Devils host the Region 15 Championship tournament on Thursday, May 2, with action beginning at 2 p.m., and Friday, May 3, beginning at 8 a.m.
