Kathleen Margaret Daniels, at the age of 56, passed away at her home in Moab on Jan. 11.
She was born in Flagstaff, Arizona, on Oct. 25, 1962, as the seventh child to Elmer Daniels and Else (Burfeind) Daniels. Daniels graduated from Grand County High School in 1981 and was a longtime resident of Moab.
She had a creative, caring and generous spirit. Her steel-trap memory and witty sense of humor gave her talent for telling a tale and making people laugh. Daniels was willing to give people in need a place to sleep and food to eat. She had incredible pride and undying love for her family, friends and the community in which she lived.
An excerpt from a poem written by Daniels:
“When I go to sleep at night,
I do not have any fright.
You watch over me every day.
Small price to pay. Thanks for loving me.
I will always love you.
Devoted Kathleen
I will find the Rainbow.”
She is survived by her four daughters, Mackenzie, Sara, Jenyce and Rebakah; five grandchildren, Heidi, Lukas, Kaitlyn, Fox and Will; six siblings, Coralee, Ester, Mike, Eric, Kevin and Tammy; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Pat, and her son.
We love you, our Mom, our Grandma, our Sister, our Friend. Rest peacefully knowing that you were, are, and will always be forever in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, people wanting to help can make a donation for cremation and memorial expenses to the Daniels Memorial Fund at Mountain America Credit Union.
Memorial services will be held at a later time to allow those who want to be present the opportunity to remember and honor Daniels.
