Gary Dale Walter, 71, passed away peacefully due to extended illness on Jan. 9, surrounded by his family filled with love and gratitude.
Walter was born on Feb. 26, 1947, in Turlock, California. His parents, Verne and Mary Walter, raised him as he worked in his family’s camera store. As motivated as he could be, Walter went to continue his education at Brooks Institute of Photography. Walter eventually married the love of his life, Cheryl Walter. Walter and Cheryl decided to move to Sonora, California, to develop and start their own successful camera business. When the lovely couple were ready for a change, they bravely decided to make a move to Moab and create the Moab Valley RV Resort and Campground. Walter and Cheryl continued to live in Moab and begin retirement while keeping busy and involved in real estate.
Walter is survived by his spouse, Cheryl Walter; his son, Shon (Rossana); his grandchildren, Carlos and Isabella; his brother, Verne L. (Ruth); and his nephew and niece, Verne G. and Charlotte.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rosemary Walter.
