The Utah High School Activities Association finalized the classification and region designations for its member schools for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons at its public hearing in West Jordan on Dec. 5. For the next two seasons, the Grand County High School Red Devils will compete in 3A Region 12, along with Carbon, Emery, Richfield, San Juan and South Sevier in all sports except football. Regions 13’s six schools and region 14’s seven schools also fall under the 3A umbrella, for a total of 19 schools.
Grand’s class and region is the same for football as all other sports. However, Regions 13 and 14 have some football-specific changes. Juan Diego competes 4A in all other sports, but competes in 3A Region 13 in football, while Providence Hall competes 3A Region 13 in all other sports, but does not compete in football. Maesar Preparatory Academy competes in 3A Region 14 in all other sports, but does not compete in football.
