Officer Monty Risenhoover, with the Moab Police Department, was on patrol when he observed sixth-grader Natyla Sampson (upper right) fall off her bike on her way to school. After helping her clean her scrapes, and learning that she did not have a helmet, Risenhoover decided to visit Chile Pepper Bike Shop, where shop owner Tracy Bentley (lower right) offered to donate a helmet for Natyla. Risenhoover returned to the girl’s school to present it to her. Natyla told her mom, Amber Goeringer, that she was so moved by Officer Risenhoover’s actions that “I almost burst into tears when he brought the helmet to me.” [Photos courtesy Moab Police Department]
