Opening a new door

Lori Lameman (left) holds the keys to her family’s new home at Grand Oasis. Lori and her three daughters (center) were displaced in May when an electrical fire started behind their refrigerator. The family moved temporarily to a hotel room at the Hampton Inn, where Lori works as the laundry manager. Many members of the community worked together to raise the downpayment to help secure the family’s new home, including Rhiana Medina, director of the Moab Valley Multicultural Center (pictured, right). The Lameman family closed on their new home on July 10. [Photo by Murice D. Miller / Moab Sun News]
