Dear Editor:
I have heard the residents living around the Swanny Park are complaining about the music festival using the park for four summer evenings.
The music festival has the same rights to use a public park as an art festival or a car show or a half marathon.
The park has been there for longer than most residents in the area.
People buy houses near airports and complain about the planes.
I guess it is no surprise that people buy houses near a community park and then complain when the community uses the park.
These events provide wholesome activities for local and out-of-towners alike.
I hope the city council continues to provide venues for the diverse activities that benefit the community as a whole.
