Outgoing Grand County Council chair Jaylyn Hawks (standing) turned her seat over to newly appointed chair Mary McGann at the council’s first meeting of the year on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Council members voted 6-0 to appoint McGann as chair and Curtis Wells to McGann’s former position as vice chair. Wells was not present for the vote.
