Lorraine Bates, January 3, 1947 – November 26, 2016

Lorraine Bates, 69, passed away peacefully at her home on November 26, 2016.

She was born on January 3, 1947, to James and Dorothy Mustoe Baker in Wallace, Idaho. Later on, her family moved to Moab, where she attended school and graduated from Grand County High School in 1965. During her high school years, she met the love of her life, Harley Bates. They got married on May 10, 1965, and later welcomed their daughter Tammy and shortly after, their son Buzz. Harley and Lorraine were blessed to celebrate 51 years of marriage.

Lorraine is survived by her husband Harley Bates; son Buzz (Julia) Bates; grandchildren Harley Lammert, Veronica (Tyson) Ballard and Curt (Jaelie) Lammert; great-grandsons Kody, Bruce, Ronnie, Case and Owen; brothers Jim, Gene, Mike and Larry; and sister Laurel.

Lorraine will be greatly missed by her friends, family and especially her husband, who loved her dearly.

Funeral services will be held on December 5, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Moab Baptist Church at 356 W. Kane Creek Blvd., with a viewing held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
