Road work at the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands National Park this week will cause temporary closures to Mesa Arch and the Willow Flats Campground.
The Mesa Arch parking lot will close the night of Wednesday, July 13 and will remain closed during the day on Thusday. There will not be access to Mesa Arch for sunrise in Thursday morning, but the park service hopes to have the trail opened by the afernoon.
On Friday, July 15 the Willow Flat Campground will close by 10:00 a.m. and all campers must be vacted.The campground will re-open Friday night, but campers must remove all belongings from the campground during the day Friday.
The park service would like people to know that this schedule is subject to change and that updated information will be provided on the Canyonlands National Park Facebook page.
