Wanda Kay White, 67, left us to be with her beloved husband, Jode. Wanda passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on June 8, 2015, only a few weeks after the passing of her husband. They spent 37 years married and will now spend eternity together.
Wanda was born December 4, 1947, to Richard and Viola Willett on a ranch outside of Hardin, Montana. She spent her early years on the ranch and in Montana. She met Jode, the love of her life, in Moab and married him in 1978.
Those who knew Wanda can tell you that she never had an unkind word for anyone. She loved her family very much, and she was never happier than when they were gathered under one roof. Wanda loved the opportunity to cook for her family and never grew tired of inventing new recipes. Wanda’s extended family included Ruford, her bichon frise.
Wanda took great pride in her yard and its large, beautiful garden featuring local plants, fruit trees and vegetables. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, and many of the things in her home and yard were made by her hand. Wanda could often be spotted working her crossword puzzle.
Wanda was preceded in death by her mother, father and her older sister Darlene Larsen. She is survived by her brothers Jack Willett and Richard Willett. Wanda is also survived by her son Lance White, stepson Mitch White, her grandchildren Maddox and Oliver (Lance and Paige), and Breanna, Brynlee, Brooklyn (Mitch and Robyn).
A viewing will be held on Friday, June 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Spanish Valley Mortuary. Services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 20, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Grand Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bichon Frise Rescue at bichonfrise.rescueme.org.
