Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) crews cleared debris from state Route 128 on Thursday, June 11, after heavy rains sent mud and rock onto the road. The main route between Moab and Castle Valley was closed for about four hours during the cleanup work. The June 11 storm brought Moab’s monthly precipitation up to 295 percent of average; total precipitation for the water year that began on Oct. 1, 2014, now stands at 118 percent of average, according to Ronald Pierce.
