Grand County High School Students of the Year Emilia Cubelos, left, and Caleb Howe were recognized during a special end-of-year Moab Elks Lodge luncheon on Tuesday, May 13. Both students previously received the school’s Student of the Month award during the 2014-15 school year. Exalted Ruler Dan Stott of Moab Elks Lodge No. 2021, which sponsors the GCHS Student of the Month program, announced and presented the awards, which included certificates and cash. Cubelos, Howe and 16 other GCHS students who received Student of the Month honors during the school year were also honored during the luncheon. The high school’s faculty nominates and selects the monthly winners, and the Students of the Year are then selected from among the underclassmen, or non-seniors.
