Two out-of-state special interest motorcycle groups and the local special interest group, Ride with Respect, have asked the local BLM office to approve illegally constructed motorcycle trails in the Westwater area of Grand County as part of the BLM travel plan.
The three groups are supporting illegal damage to the public lands in Grand County and are showing no respect for the federal, state and local laws that protect our recreation areas.
Approval of the illegal trails by the BLM will set precedents that will provide incentive to other special interest groups to damage public lands first and ask forgiveness later. The BLM needs to close any illegally constructed trails in Grand County.
