Moab city residents have the opportunity to vote for two council seats and a mayoral position this election.
Three candidates are running for two at-large Moab City Council seats this year.
Jeff Davis and Kyle Bailey have both sat on the Moab City Council for 12 years. Heila Ershadi, who moved to Moab six years ago, is challenging one of their seats.
The two candidates to receive the most votes will begin their four-year terms in January.
Mayor Dave Sakrison is running unopposed for Moab’s mayoral seat. Sakrison has served as the city’s mayor for 12 years.
Moab precinct polling places are as follows: No. 1 and No. 9 Grand County Courthouse; No. 2 and No. 5, Moab City Hall; No. 3 and No. 10 Grand Center; and No. 4, First Baptist Church.
Spanish Valley residents will be able to vote for board seats on the Spanish Valley Water and Sewer Improvement District.
Four candidates are running for three at-large seats on the water district board. The three candidates to receive the most votes during the election will begin their four-year terms beginning in January.
Mike Holyoak, Glen Wilson and Tom Stengal now sit on the district board. Bill Love is challenging one of their seats.
Spanish Valley residents can vote between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the Grand Water and Sewer Service Agency office at 3025 E. Spanish Trail Road.
Castle Valley residents have the opportunity to vote for two town council seats and as well as the mayor this election.
Jazmine Duncan is running unopposed for a four-year term seat as a town councilmember. Tory Hill is running unopposed for a two-year seat as a town councilmember. A second four-year term seat is open with no candidates.
Incumbent Mayor David Erley is running against write-in candidate Oscar Duncan.
Castle Valley residents can vote between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.at the Castle Valley Community Center at 2 Castle Valley Drive.
Utah State Law now requires each voter to show âvalid voter identificationâ before they can vote. Valid voter identification means a current form of identification that bears the name and photograph of the voter.
