Last week’s top story, “Councilman: BLM and SUWA held closed meeting on land use,” (July 11) seems to have missed the point. Council chairman Gene Ciarus, in mailing a letter that most of the other members of the council were unaware of (but implying their consent), behaved in an astonishingly arrogant and deceitful manner. Isn’t signing someone else’s name fraud? What about claiming representation of a whole county without the other representatives? Ciarus’s disgraceful behavior would better be examined with the prospect of a recall and perhaps of prosecution, rather than dignifying his ill-informed objections to a routine and entirely proper meeting.
