Sandy Louise Smith, September 17, 1946 – August 25, 2016

Sandy Louise Smith was called home to our Heavenly Father on August 25, 2016. She was born on September 17, 1946, in Great Falls, Montana, to David and Marva Shutts, who preceded her in death.

Sandy was famous for her walking, and she will be forever remembered for all of the effort and time that she put into caring for others. Whether on the job or volunteering, she found so much joy in helping others. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her family. This is also where she found her greatest blessings. Her heart was always full of love for her family.

On May 18, 1990, she was united in marriage to Tony Smith. Their union was sealed in the Monticello Utah Temple on March 8, 2003. Tony provided Sandy with a love that knew no boundaries. From that love, she drew all of her strength and courage. As she fell ill, her love for family and her faith in our Lord comforted her, and continues to be a comfort as she continues her journey into life eternal.

She will be greatly missed by her children: daughter Rickie Kayle Aldridge (Deeya Barlow) of Grantsville, Utah; and their children, Justin Aldridge (Jessica) of Purdy, Missouri; Christopher Aldridge of Springfield, Missouri; Scott Aldridge of Purdy, Missouri; and Joshua Barlow of Corona, California; son Bill Johnson (Hollis) and their children, Josh and Tyler, all of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and son John Johnson (Kristl) and their children, Patience, Dakota, Gauge, Crispin and Xander, all of La Sal, Utah.

She is survived by her spouse, Tony Smith; two sisters, Vania Smith (David) of Grace, Idaho; and Teri Smith of Grace, Idaho. She has two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Cathie Taylor of Las Vegas, Nevada; and brother-in-law Ellis (Terri) Smith of Grace, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 2, at 11 a.m. at the LDS 400 North Chapel. A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
