Grand County High School Class of 1975 celebrates 50th reunion

Over 100 alumni in Grand County High School’s Class of 1975 came together in Moab on September 12-13 to celebrate their 50-year reunion.

The weekend opened Friday night with a get-reacquainted gathering at Old City Park. “The laughter was easy, the music familiar, and it felt as if the last half-century had been nothing more than an extended summer break,” organizers wrote.

Saturday morning brought a just-for-fun best ball golf tournament, thanks to Moab Golf Course pro Robbie Jones for squeezing the group in during a busy time. That evening, the Red Devils gathered at the Grand Center. Attendees received a reunion yearbook at the door before sitting down to a dinner catered by the Blu Pig. The program that followed included a video spanning their school years from seventh through twelfth grade—complete with a few AI-generated surprises.

“The reunion highlighted the enduring spirit of the Class of ’75,” organizers wrote. “Though hair may now be grayer or in some cases gone, their pride as Red Devils remains strong. Many reflected on how fortunate they were to grow up in Moab at a time when the town pulled together, kids roamed freely, neighbors looked out for each other, and Friday night football meant the whole community turned up.”

Congrats on a sucessful event to the reunion committee: Debbie Posey Dowd, Anita Griswold Keogh, Kerry Lange, Gary Olesen, and Van Mays.
