Girls Soccer
The Lady Red Devils soccer team dominated the pitch, shutting out Parowan 8-0 and then cruising past Gunnison Valley 14-0. The team’s offensive firepower and tight defense set the tone for an impressive early season run.
Girls Volleyball
On the volleyball court, Grand swept Monticello on the road, 3-0, in their August 19 matchup, showing strong rhythm and resilience.
Girls tennis
Girls tennis had a full slate as well, starting with solid showings at the St. George Invitational—highlighted by what coaches called “great wins and some close losses”—and then delivering a commanding 5-0 victory over San Juan.
The team also hosted 4A Uintah in their first home match, battling hard against the higher-division opponent. Paya Maughan notched a straight-sets win at first singles, while her teammates pushed through tough games in the heat to close the day 1-4 overall. JV doubles teams are continuing to sharpen their skills and gain court confidence.
Golf
On the links, boys golf earned a second-place team finish at the Region XVIII tournament, then followed up with a third-place showing at Palisades.
Cross country
Cross country runners opened their season at Richfield, where both JV and varsity squads landed in fifth place overall.
