How far can Cosmo the library cat go?

Friends! Patrons! Visitors! Lend me your…travels! As Grand County Public Library’s resident ambassador, I’ve been pondering how I can best embody the Summer Reading Program theme to “Color Our World.”

I considered walking over an ink-pad to grace the library floors with my colorful pawprints. I even briefly contemplated asking my barber to style my fur in the colorful calico fashion, but why mess with the sartorial perfection of a tuxedo? I’ll keep brainstorming, but this week I’ve decided to focus more on the “world” element of “Color Our World” by enlisting your help with the 2nd Annual “How Far Can Cosmo Go?” display!

To participate, pick up a free Cosmo bookmark at the library (or don your favorite Cosmo tee, etc.) and bring my purrfect portrait along for your next adventure. Whether you’re gallivanting through the pages of a fictional world or globe-trotting near or far, snap a picture of me as I accompany you on your literary & literal travels!

Send your picture and caption to grandcountylibrary@gmail.com between now and August 10, and watch as the photo display across from the library’s front desk fills with the books and destinations you help me explore.

As a bonus, participating fulfills one of the three activities needed to complete the Summer Reading Program. I’ve already gone on several hikes in Colorado, read the book “Other Birds” by Sarah Addison Allen, and even driven to the southernmost point of the continental United States!

So join in the fun to see How Far Cosmo Can Go this summer!

P.S. There’s still time to join the Summer Reading fun! Any time you’ve spent reading since June 8 counts towards super cool prize drawings!  Go to www.tinyurl.com/gcplreads for details, or ask your friendly librarian.) Bon voyage, mes amis, adieu, and faremeow! Cosmo out!
