BLM posts list of proposed oil and gas leases

The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM’s) Utah Canyon Country District Office last week posted the list of parcels proposed for auction at the quarterly competitive oil and gas lease sale scheduled for Feb. 16, 2016, in Salt Lake City. Posting initiates a 30-day public protest period.

The list includes seven proposed parcels covering 8,121 acres in the Moab Field Office. All seven parcels are identified as available to oil and gas leasing under the current resource management plan for the Moab Field Office.

All protests must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14. Protests should be as specific as possible. Those which contain only opinions or preferences will not receive a formal response, but may be considered in the BLM decision-making process. Protests may be mailed to the BLM-Utah State Office at 440 W. 200 South, Suite 500, Salt Lake City, UT 84101, or faxed to the attention of Becky Hammond at 801-539-4237.
