Enduro Cup announces event details

Pay attention, mountain bikers.

The organizers of the Scott Enduro Cup Presented by Vittoria race announced key details this week about the event’s new race course in the Klondike Bluffs trail area.

This year’s event, which runs on Saturday, May 9, is moving to Klondike Bluffs from the Magnificent 7 area. It includes four timed stages descending approximately 3,000 vertical feet.

The new course runs 29 miles in the open categories and three timed stages, covering 25 miles for the amateur, expert and junior divisions. The trail system features a variety of terrain, from swooping dirt single track to slickrock raceways and technical ascents.

Athlete check-in is located at the Chile Pepper Bike Shop and will be held on Friday, May 8, from 3 to 7 p.m. On race day, May 9, the base area will be located at the south entrance to the Klondike Bluffs trail system. The first riders will begin transferring to stage one at 7:30 a.m.

The race will be followed by a barbeque, awards and raffle at the race base area.

All raffle proceeds benefit the Grand Country Trail Mix. The event is sold out, but spectators are welcome and encouraged to join the festivities while enjoying the mountain bike community atmosphere.

Enduro races pit riders’ physical endurance and technical downhill skills, making it an excellent discipline for riders of all ability levels, according to event organizer Mountain Sports International. Spectators and athletes may view live timing results throughout the race on ItsYourRace.com and the ItsYourRace App.
