Dear Editor,
The recent Moab Sun News article, (“Weekend visitor numbers shatter records,” May 28, 2015) about high visitation to our area was very interesting. I understand that we need tourism to support the local business’ and economy, but do we need it to the extent we have a gridlocked Main Street and do we really need to become a go-cart track for OHVs and their noise? Some local residents are finding it necessary to leave town on long weekends to avoid the crush, but is that really going to be convenient for most of us? Grand County Council vice chair Chris Baird raises a valid point: Is there such a thing as too many tourists?
