Little Devils compete in Cortez

The Little Devil wrestlers traveled to Cortez, Colo., on Saturday, March 22 and competed against several teams; there were 619 kids registered for this tournament. The Little Devils took home nine first-place trophies.

The nine first-place finishers were: Peyton Hatathley at 41 pounds in division one; Austin Paris at 48 pounds in division two; Connor Swasey at 52 pounds in division two; Lane Peterson at 55 pounds in division two; Gannon James at 63 pounds in division two; Caden Swasey at 65 pounds in division two; Ean Ellis at 67 pounds in division two; Jason McKinney at 69 pounds in division two; and Landon Moralez at 54 pounds in division three. Cooper Swasey placed second at 40 pounds in division one; Brayden Althoff placed third at 65 pounds in division two; Aaron Stewart placed third at 75 pounds in division two; Oscar Martinez placed third in 55 pounds in division three; Braxton Martinez placed fourth at 47 pounds in division one; Breckin Shepherd placed fourth at 47 pounds in division two; Maison Moyle placed fourth at 105 pounds in division five; Aiden Ceniceros placed fifth at 69 pounds in division three; and Ryen Martin placed sixth at 42 pounds in division one.

“Our kids faced some tough competition and they never quit,” Little Devil wrestling coach Ed Guerrero said. The Little Devils have one more tournament this season, which takes place on Saturday, March 29 in Blanding.
