Congrats, Baby 2023! Brexton Myles Duncan was born on January 5, the first baby born at Moab Regional Hospital in 2023. Congratulations to the happy parents, MRH Medical Staff Services Coordinator Selena Duncan and Krimzon Duncan. Brexton was born at 10:23 p.m. at 7 lbs. 6 oz., and is a healthy, beautiful addition to their family and our community! Welcome, Brexton! [Moab Regional Hospital] Thanks to Moab Sun News reader Reuben Watson (a self-proclaimed “local desert rat, tour guide, Aries”), who sent us a snap of this little canid. “A grey fox (Urocyon cinereoargenteus) soaking in the temporary peace and quiet of Sand Flats in winter,” Watson said. “The grey fox evolved in North America and they’re a little older than Homo sapiens. The oldest grey fox fossils have been found in Arizona and date to 3.6 million years ago.” [Reuben Watson] The Grand County High School swim team held a dual meet against Hurricane and Gunnison at the Moab Recreation and Aquatic Center on Jan. 6 and 7, as well as held its Senior Awards Day on that Saturday.
