I’m writing to thank the community at large for their recent and generous support of the Books for Tots Program sponsored by Back of Beyond Books and Desert West Office Supply.
For the last eleven years the Moab community, through the Books for Tots program, has provided thousands of free, new and desirable books for our local school libraries. The regular participating schools include: Sundwall Pre-School, Helen M. Knight Elementary School, Moab Charter School, Grand County Middle and High Schools.
This year’s recipients included these five plus the San Juan High School Phoenix project in an effort to rebuild their library collection, recently lost to arson, and the BEACON after school program, which provides tutoring and after-school clubs and activities to Moab’s youth.
This year, generous donations from over 100 community members and local businesses allowed us to deliver over 500 books to our local schools! Desert West Office Supply makes this program possible by charitably donating the proceeds from their printer ink cartridge-recycling program. Other businesses that deserve to be singled out for their notable donations include Footprints, Inc and Chip’s Grand Tire and Auto and Canyon Voyages. Thank you so much for making this year’s Books for Tots a raving success!
