Richard Earl “Buckshot” Dalton passed away on August 13, 2013 surrounded by family and friends at Moab Regional Hospital.
He was born June 18, 1946 in Moab.
Buckshot lived a full life cowboying in the mountains and desert of the intermountain west. His loves were horses, fishing, good working dogs, hunting, family and telling stories to anyone who would listen.
He is survived by three daughters Darlena Schlachter of Cheyenne, WY; Yvonne (Justin) Leavitt, Monroe; and Valene (Josh) Robertson, of Monroe; three sons Gratt (Corinne) Dalton of Emery; Rusty (Amber) Barnes Rangely, Colo.; Casey (Alicia) Gines Grand Junction, Colo.; three sisters Betty (Ike) Gilpin, Coleen (Milo) Randall and Lynda Moore; a brother Cecil Kay (Susie) Dalton; 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday Aug. 24, 2013 at the Grand Center, 182 North 500 West.
