Tyler Palmer, March 23, 1985 – Jan. 11, 2019

William James “Tyler” Palmer, age 33, did not survive an automobile accident on Jan. 11.

Palmer was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on March 23, 1985, and was a Moab resident since 2006.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy, and three-year-old son Gunner; his parents, Julie and Jim Palmer of Virginia Beach, Virginia; sister, Nicole Manley (Robbins) of Breckenridge, Colorado; and many loving friends and members of his and Wendy’s extended families including her Moab aunt and uncle, Eve Tallman and Ralph Ferrara.

Palmer was a wonderful father to Gunner and a devoted husband to Wendy. Travel and photography brought him great joy and he was an adventurous outdoorsman and gifted athlete. He was a compassionate guiding light as a wilderness therapy leader and he turned many lives around. He is remembered as kind and considerate, full of love for his family and a solid anchor for his many friends.

In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe account has been established for Wendy and Gunner; visit https://www.gofundme.com/gunnerpalmer for more information.

A service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 5 p.m. at the Slick Rock Campground D-Loop site #D-18 (weather permitting) followed by a reception at the Moab Arts and Recreation Center (MARC) located at 111 E. 100 North at 6 p.m. (in the event of inclement weather all services will be held at the MARC starting at 5:30 p.m.). All who knew and loved Palmer and his family are welcome to join.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.SpanishValleyMortuary.com.
