Suzan Edna Woodward Dalton, daughter of Woody (L.H.) and Ann Woodward, passed peacefully on June 1 at the age of 62.
She was born in Moab on Dec. 20, 1956, and graduated from the College of Eastern Utah with honors in 1976, and then Utah State University in 1978 with a degree in arts education. She married the love of her life, Pug (Kevin) Dalton, twice. It was the best love story.
She was so sweet, and thoughtful, and a fiercely creative force in the world. She impacted and shaped so many in her life; and will always be remembered for her generosity and artistry. She wanted everyone to remember how “fun and funny” she was.
She loved sewing, cross-stitching, driving across the country on adventures, playing with her grandchildren, talking to her daughters and friends, laughing and joking with Pug, going to the mountains, watching sunsets, making pots and staying in little old hotels with character.
After teaching art for years in Utah and then in Nevada, she was able to start making pots full time when she moved to Arizona. There are many that treasure the inspiration and encouragement she provided as a teacher, and who cherish the work she left behind.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Ann, and her dad, Woody; and her brothers, Max and Bugsy.
She is survived by her husband, Pug Dalton; her daughter Danielle; and grandchildren Dominic, Matteo and Chiara, of Kayesville, Utah; her daughter Annie and granddaughter Delilah, of Moab; and her daughter Macey and granddaughter Aylah, of Moab; and her sister Leslie Ann Woodward.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 6, at 1 p.m. at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Moab.
