County seeks applicants to fill county council vacancy

Effective at midnight on Wednesday, Nov. 6, Terry Morse resigned from the Grand County Council District One seat, leaving it vacant. Grand County Clerk Chris Baird said there will be a special election in 2020 to fill the mid-term vacancy; the council plans to appoint an interim replacement for the seat during their regular Nov. 19 meeting.

Any persons interested in declaring their candidacy for the vacant office must file a Declaration of Candidacy by Nov. 15 in the office of the Grand County Clerk, 125 East Center Street. Contact the clerk’s office at 435-259-1321 for more information.

As of press time, the Grand County Clerk’s office reported that no applications had been received.
