A hiker this week discovered a woman’s partially submerged body in Kane Creek near Hunter Canyon.
The hiker had to leave the area to obtain cell phone service and contacted the Grand County Sheriff’s Office on the afternoon of Monday, April 9. Investigators responded to the area and recovered the body of a 39-year-old female, according to a press release from Grand County Sheriff’s Lt. Kim Neal.
The woman, whose name is not being released at this time, is believed to have been in the location for more than a day.
Her body was transported to the Utah Office of the Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death. The woman’s death is still under investigation, and additional information is unavailable at this time.
