A Plain City man is dead after suffering fatal injuries from a 45-foot fall on Thursday, May 17.
The Grand County Sheriff’s Office reports 34-year-old Malan Checketts had been with a group riding ATV’s one mile south of Determination Towers near Moab. Checketts was not on an ATV when the fall occurred, but had hiked to the area where the fall occurred.
Classic Lifeguard Helicopter, Grand County Search and Rescue, Grand County Sheriff’s Office, and Grand County EMS responded to the scene of the accident at 5:05 p.m.
