The Grand County High School boys tennis team placed fourth at the Region 15 Championship on Saturday, May 5, in Mt. Pleasant, qualifying for the state tournament on Friday and Saturday, May 11 and 12, at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City.
In No. 1 singles, senior Elton Kunze-Jones placed second. Junior Kai Wainer also placed second in No. 3 singles. In No. 2 singles, junior Kasey Kemp placed third.
In No. 1 doubles, juniors Tanner Mascaro and Braxten Pierce placed fifth and in No. 2 doubles, junior Cody Johnston and sophomore Hayden Lance placed fourth.
The girls golf team was scheduled to compete at the Cove View Golf Course in Richfield for the state 3A championship on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 8 and 9.
For the boys soccer team, its season came to an end in the first round of the state tournament via 5-0 defeat to Morgan on Thursday, May 3. Because of their sportsmanship, several Morgan fans praised the Red Devils’ program, according to Grand County High School.
