Marines from the 2nd Battalion, 7th Regiment, who had served in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, took a whitewater rafting trip on the Colorado River last week. The trip was taken in honor of their Corpsman David “Doc” Gwinn, of Denver, Colorado, who died in 2017. Gwinn’s widow, mother and widow’s sister joined the trip that was guided by Moab’s Navtec Expeditions. Warriors on Cataract organizer Fred Solheim said that the trips provide a powerful way for Marines to gather and support one another and the families of the fallen. [Courtesy photo]
