A rider in a UTV suffered a severe injury on Monday, July 23, when his hand was crushed by the UTV’s roll cage in an accident at Sand Flats Recreation Area.
Grand County EMS (GCEMS), Grand County Sheriff’s Office and Grand County Search and Rescue responded to THE UTV rollover on the Hell’s Revenge 4×4 trail at approximately 11:30 a.m.
First responders, assisted by one of the trail guides, worked to control the patient’s bleeding. The patient was transported off of the trail and into the GCEMS ambulance. He was taken to Moab Regional Hospital and flown to the University of Utah. [Photo courtesy of GCEMS]
