There are more than 20 million veterans in the U.S. and Grand County has its fair share of former armed forces members who served in World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam and the Middle East. This year, Grand County’s veterans are gathering at the Grand County Courthouse, 125 E. Center St., on Monday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. to host a Veterans Day ceremony. Veterans, pictured left to right, are Lloyd Holyoak representing the Korean War, Vietnam veteran Keith Holyoak, World War II veteran Melvin Dalton and Mary Walker-Irvin, representing conflicts in the Middle East. Veteran Ron Irvin said the Valley Voices are singing during the Nov. 12 ceremony, Moab Mayor Emily Niehaus will give a speech and VFW Post 10900 will make a presentation to show the 13 folds of the U.S. flag.
