Jim W. Davis, 81, passed away on March 17 at the University of Utah Hospital.
Jim was born August 5, 1934, in Lamar, Colorado, to Alice Dewhurst. Jim met the love of his life, and after three weeks of dating he married Delores Hopkins. The couple just celebrated 45 years on January 8. To this union, three children were born.
Jim worked for Atlas Minerals for 10 years, and also for Moab Diner, Bowen Motel and Holiday Haven. He was an outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, hiking, and swimming. Jim taught many neighborhood kids how to swim. Jim was a devoted husband, dad, and grandpa. His greatest enjoyment was playing cars with his great grandkids, and chasing them around the house.
He is survived by his wife Delores Davis of Moab, and by three children: Ellen Davis of Moab, Brian Davis of Moab and Connie and Shane Beason of Moab. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Nicole, Krystal, Zachery, Tristin, Jasper, Shyanna, Justin and Ashtin; and by six great-grandchildren.
His loving personality and affectionate smile will be forever missed.
