The Helen M. Knight Elementary School’s BEACON Academic Afterschool All-Stars of the Month are Gracey Bylilly and Auria Montoya.
Gracey is a second grader in Mrs. Johnson’s class. Her parents are Sheen and Krystal.
Gracey was nominated by her tutor Caryn McGinty, who said, “Gracey is a wonderful addition to our tutoring table. She has a fun sense of humor and is very patient and kind. She has an admirable work ethic, and tries her best on all assignments.”
When Gracey was asked what her favorite thing about BEACON was, she replied, “I like reading in BEACON, but I also like art and free time.” Some advice from Gracey is, “If you want to do well in school, be nice and don’t bully anybody.”
Auria Montoya is a first grader in Mrs. McKinnon’s class. Her parents are Shaleena and Matt.
Auria was nominated by her enrichment club leader John Aldridge, who said, “Auria is kind, helpful, and compassionate. Her willingness to assist others exemplifies student behavior. We admire her persistent approach to homework and reading, and her enthusiasm toward enrichment activities!”
Auria said her favorite thing about BEACON is the activities.
“The best one was making OObleck! It was fun and messy,” she said.
