Margaret L. Hopkin Middle School has named Devon Stott and Gavin Prickett as its Students of the Month, recognizing their effort, character, and contributions in and out of the classroom.

Seventh grader Devon Stott is known for his kindness, generosity, and strong work ethic. Teachers describe him as an engaged student who participates actively in class, asks thoughtful questions, and brings genuine curiosity to his learning. Devon works well with his peers, supports group projects, and helps keep classmates on task. He consistently comes prepared and takes his schoolwork seriously.

Outside the classroom, Devon enjoys science, playing soccer, Pokémon, spending time with his family, eating cookies, and getting plenty of sleep.

His advice to others is: “If you work without looking at the time, you will eventually get to shop without looking at the prices.”

Eighth grader Gavin Prickett is recognized for his quiet focus and responsibility. He consistently completes his work with care, stays attentive in class, and takes ownership of his learning, including catching up after absences. Teachers note his integrity, thoughtful decision-making, and respectful attitude toward both peers and staff.

Gavin’s dedication extends beyond the classroom to the mountain bike team. He also enjoys snowboarding, dirt biking, and spending time with his family. His favorite season is spring, and some of his favorite trips have included Routon, Phoenix, and Hurksville.

Gavin’s advice to others is: “Always give everything 100%, respect your teachers and peers, and live by the Golden Rule.”

Congratulations to Devon and Gavin on this well-earned recognition.
