Moab Community Time and Trade Network
Moab residents proposed a “Time and Trade Network” for Moab. The concept envisions a system to connect community members with both services and goods, fostering a circular economy and increasing overall community resilience. The presenters asked for city support in exploring different mutual aid options, and council members gave advice & feedback about how to connect with existing groups.

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), First Public Hearing
Community Development Block Grants are federal dollars that small communities like Moab can use for projects that directly benefit low- and moderate-income residents. In Moab, CDBG money has typically supported infrastructure and housing needs that the city couldn’t easily fund on its own. Past projects have included improvements to water and sewer lines, planning work tied to affordable housing, and upgrades to public facilities serving vulnerable residents.
Proposed project: Moab Free Health Clinic Modular Units
Requesting $350,000 for a three-unit modular unit to house volunteer physicians, dentists, and other specialists.
Proposed project: Moab Free Health Clinic Parking Lot
Requesting $60,000 to overlay the parking lot.
Proposed project: Swanny Park Accessibility Improvements
Requesting $200,000 to $250,000 for restroom remodel, sidewalk connectivity, lighting, and bike parking.
Next steps in the process include are making a decision on which proposals to put forward for potential funding, gathering estimates, and preparing required documentation. If a project is accepted in the first round, a second public hearing will be held.
