Gallery Moab is showing new work by Charlotte Quigley this month, with a December exhibition of plein air paintings made during her tenure as the 2025 Community Artist in the Parks for Southeast Utah’s national parks. The show opens Saturday, December 6.

From April through October, Quigley spent a full day each month painting in Arches, Canyonlands, Hovenweep, and Natural Bridges. She met more than 1,000 visitors while working outdoors and completed over 40 pieces during the residency.

“I developed a love for plein air painting, a love of sitting and just being in these beautiful open air spaces, and meeting people from all over the world who are appreciating our parks,” Quigley said.

The exhibition includes some of her favorite paintings from the program, among them “Three Gossips,” “Canyonlands Butte,” “Nefertiti,” and “Kachina Bridge.”

Quigley has a long background in the arts. She’s a lifelong watercolorist who also works in pastels and oils, holds a master’s degree in art history, and has worked as a teacher, arts council director, and curator.

A public reception is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Gallery Moab, 59 South Main Street, with holiday refreshments.

Gallery Moab is an artist-owned cooperative offering original fine art and handmade crafts. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 12–6 p.m., and Sunday and Monday, 12–3 p.m.
