Meow and hello friends, Cosmo the Library Cat here with some important library news. Having finally emerged from months of quantum uncertainty, the Grand County Public Library will be closed for repairs from Saturday, October 18th, reopening on Monday, November 3rd.
Regular library visitors will know that our HVAC systems haven’t been right for a while now. Sometimes areas of the library are much too hot, even for a lazy cat nap. And other times rooms are so cold that you need a jacket! I suggested that you all try to grow a beautiful fur coat like me, but that was overruled as impractical. HVAC repairs it is!
While I am going to miss seeing all my fans during this time, I’m looking forward to taking a short vacation. I’ll be going to an all-inclusive cat spa where my every whim will be catered to by an adoring staff. It’ll be nice to get a change of scenery, and take a break from having my whims catered to by an adoring staff here at the library.
While you won’t be able to see me, the library is still there for you! You can access our digital resources 24/7 from the “Digital Library” tab of the library’s website at www.moablibrary.org. You’ll need to log in with your library card.
In addition, we’re offering curbside pickup and other limited library services at the Library Teen Center from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. For curbside, place library materials on hold through the online catalog at catalog.moablibrary.org or by calling the Teen Center at 435-355-0735. When it is safe to do so, library staff will gather the items you want from the construction zone, and notify you when they are ready to be picked up.
The Teen Center is located right next to the Grand County Public Library at 321 E. Center St., so just pop in or call us when you’re outside and the librarians will bring your items out to you. You may also return your library materials there.
I’m looking forward to seeing you all again in the nice, comfortable library once the repairs are wrapped up. Until then, keep on reading!
