April fools? Moab sees rare April snowfall

No joke: on April 1, 2025, Moab witnessed an unusual weather event as snowflakes and hail briefly fell upon the city, marking a rare April snowfall in Moab. The last recorded April snowfall occurred on April 3, 1999, when the city received 0.5 inches of snow.

In addition to the April snowfall, residents are reminded that Moab Snow can impact road conditions and travel plans.

Additionally, a Freeze Warning is in effect from midnight tonight until Wednesday morning, with sub-freezing temperatures in the lower to mid-20s expected. Residents are advised to take precautions to protect early garden starts!

Looking ahead, Moab’s weather this week is expected to remain cooler than average with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s.
