The Moab City Council will meet tonight, Tuesday, March 25, with an early start at 5:30 p.m. to review the city’s updated strategic plan and vote on several major infrastructure projects.

Council will begin with a workshop on Moab’s draft strategic plan, which outlines long-term goals around housing, infrastructure, sustainability, and more. You can explore the city’s strategic plan dashboard here – this shows progress the city’s many goals and projects.

One of the main agenda items is a nearly $2 million flood control project along Mill Creek, between Dream Drive and 400 East. The work will help protect against future flooding, but cost of the project is coming in significantly higher than estimated.

Council members will also hold a public hearing and vote on raising sewer impact fees—one-time charges on new construction to help pay for sewer infrastructure. The proposed increase is about 19 percent for development within city limits, according to Councilmember Kaitlin Myers. If approved, the new fees would take effect 90 days later.

Also up for discussion:
– Sidewalk repairs on Main Street and 100 West,
– Local arts project funding through the RAP tax,
– A letter supporting the future transfer of the UMTRA cleanup site to Grand County.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at Moab City Hall and will also be streamed live online.
