The Red Devil track team made their mark this weekend at the Pine View Invitational, one of the state’s largest track and field meets, held March 21–23 in St. George. With dozens of schools and thousands of entries, the event featured stacked heats and stiff competition.
Several athletes earned top-10 finishes, including:
- Cadence Kasprick, who placed 2nd in the 800m with a blazing time of 2:11.04,
- Mia McKay, taking 8th in the 100m hurdles with 16.84,
- Aiden Gordon, earning 10th in the 300m hurdles at 43.03,
- Van Westbrook, who threw 138′ in the discus to take 9th overall.
Grand County also found success in the relays. The Girls’ Sprint Medley Relay team claimed 1st place with a time of 4:30.93, while the Boys’ Sprint Medley Relay placed 5th at 4:02.34. The girls’ and boys’ 4×400 teams also posted competitive times, finishing 12th and 20th respectively.
Other strong performances came from across the roster, with athletes competing in sprints, distance events, field events, and relays. Junior Ainsleigh Kasprick also placed 22nd in a deep field in the 1600m with a time of 5:13.43, while Kailee Meador was 28th in the 100m dash with 13.74.
The Pine View Invitational serves as a valuable early-season benchmark. Way to go, Red Devils!
