Giving thanks in Moab: WabSabi serves 800+ meals with help from 100+ volunteers

“It was a beautiful day and it all came together!” said WabSabi Executive Director Leah Bear. The nonprofit’s annual sit-down Thanksgiving meal returned this past week and 100+ volunteers served over 560 people who attended at the Grand Center.

“We also had approximately 100 drop-offs, including to those who usually receive Meals on Wheels, Seekhaven, the Moab Valley Fire Department, and more,” said Bear, noting that others picked up a meal to go.

“I’d say we did approximately 800-850 meals,” she said. “Chef Isaiah and his crew impressed many and we heard how good the food was throughout the entire day.”
