This year’s Margaret L. Hopkin Middle School Food Drive was a success! This event is held every year by the eighth-grade Honor Society. The students donated 500 items in total, and 622 pounds of food was delivered to the Grand County Food Bank just in time for the holidays.
Each year, school advisory classes compete to raise the most donations. This year, Ms. LaBrec’s seventh-grade Advisory brought in 141 donations and Ms. Wilson’s eighth-grade Advisory brought in 124 donations. Both classes won Honey Buns and orange juice for breakfast.
Staff and Honor Society members send special thanks to Tara Penner for volunteering her time and helping with the loading and delivery of food, as well as Honor Society members Nona Hader, Anabelle Knurbin, Trevor Holyoak, Maci Shepherd, Cameron Swenson, Kenzi Penner, and Bailey O’Reilly.
Thanks to all students for making our community a stronger, more caring place to live!
