Cosmo’s Magical Adventure: Hogwarts comes to Moab’s library!

Meow, meow my magical friends. It’s Cosmo the Library Cat reporting live from Hogwarts, Grand County Library campus. The Children’s Room at the Moab Branch has undergone a magical transformation. In addition to the usual books, toys, and activities, you’ll now find floating candles, a screaming mandrake, and a whomping willow. A Book of Potions has appeared in the courtyard. You might even spot Platform 9 ¾ if you know where to look!

There are Harry Potter-themed activities to do as well! Choose an owl to send to Albus Dumbledore, Chief Sorcerer, to respond to the Supreme Wizard’s summons to come to Hogwarts for the semester. The new librarian, Miss Kate, is sorting people into Ravenclaws, Slytherins, Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors. Miss Kate even sorted me, but you’ll have to stop by the Children’s Room at the library to find out what I got!

I’ll leave you with a reminder about all the fun kids’ programs coming up this month. On Friday, October 18 at 2:30 p.m., we will celebrate Dia de los Muertos with stories, songs, and activities. On October 25 at 2 p.m., we’ll show the movie “Coco,” a fun, animated film inspired by Dia de los Muertos. And finally on October 26 at 10:30 a.m., we’ll host Nicole Cornelius and Kate Clark’s Musical Story Hour! So much fun to have. Meow for now!
