In memory of Carolee Lightfoot

May 23, 1939 – September 8, 2024

Carol passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family. She was born on May 23, 1939, in Tolleson, Arizona, to Frank and Verna Bartlet. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Norma Arbuckle; and her high school sweetheart-husband, Claude “Butch” Lightfoot. Carol is survived by her children, Dennis Lightfoot (Stella), Terri Nunn (Barry), Pam Schocknmyer (Jerry), and Kevin Lightfoot (Tracey); and by 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She moved to Corona, California, when she was seven. It was there she would later meet her future husband, and they were married in Bellville, Illinois, on May 9, 1958. Her first job was at the Naval Ordnance Lab as a secretary. The couple moved to Moab, Utah, in 1965, when Butch was transferred to the missile base in Green River, part of the Utah Launch Complex.

The pair would later open an electronics store in Moab: Lightfoot’s TV and Appliance. Carol was involved in a lot of different things. She drove dune buggies, square danced and enjoyed camping with friends. Carol and Butch would later retire, then sail the Caribbean on a sailboat. Sailing in the British Virgin Islands would become some of Carol’s fondest memories.
