In memory of Joretta Beeson

August 3, 1932 – August 11, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Joretta Beeson, on Sunday August 11, 2024, in Moab, Utah, where she was a longtime resident. Jo was peacefully reunited with her husband, JC Beeson, following her 92nd birthday.

In addition to raising her children, Jo was best known for her talent in the kitchen. Later, she fulfilled her dream by opening her own establishment, Jo’s Cafe in Moab. There, she became famous for her mouthwatering pies and pastries, drawing customers from near and far.

Beyond her love for cooking, Jo had a deep passion for birds. She spent countless hours watching hummingbirds from her porch—a simple pleasure that brought her much happiness.

After the passing of her beloved husband, JC, Jo faced the challenging journey of living with dementia. In her final years, she was admitted to Canyonlands Care Center, where she was affectionately known as “JoJo.” The devoted staff and fellow residents at Canyonlands Care Center quickly became like family, surrounding her with warmth and care until the end.

Joretta is survived by her children: Pauletta Chacon and her children Robbie, Rodrick, Micheal, and Christopher; Merry Barker (Mike) and her children Jozette and Rachel; Brenda Reeder (Bill) and her children Jeriad and Brandy; Eddie Stewart (Cheryl) and his children Amy, Robert, Douglas, Ryan, Logan, Cory, and Brenden. Loretta’s legacy continues through her 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter who all will cherish her memory forever.

Joretta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, JC Beeson; her sisters, Betty Sue Mckinley, brothers Carlos Wayne Nall & Carmen Jr. Nall; and a great-grandchild, Dravin Stewart.

As a family, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Canyonlands Care Center for the love and care you provided to our mom over the years.Family and friends are invited to share tributes online at SpanishValleyMortuary.com or SVMC.US.
